Partners

Laurent Saglio is a founding Partner of Zadig since 2005 and co-responsible for the European Equity research and the Memnon European and Memnon Market Neutral strategies. He also managed the Zadig Fund, a European Equity Long Short fund from 2005 to 2016. Previously, he was a founder and managing director of Voltaire Asset Management, managing the Voltaire Fund, a Long Short equity fund. Prior to starting Voltaire, he worked as a European equity analyst covering French equities as well as various sectors (media, services, etc.). He is a member of SFAF and graduated from HEC business school in 1985.

Vincent Bourgeois is a partner of Zadig co-responsible for the European Equity research and the Memnon European and Memnon Market Neutral strategies since 2011. Before joining Zadig, he was co-Manager of the HSBC European Alpha Fund. Before HSBC, he was Senior Research Analyst at Bessent Capital (London) and Lazard Frères Gestion (Paris). He graduated from HEC International Business School, Paris in 1989.

Pierre Philippon, CFA is a founding Partner of Zadig in charge of Business development. Previously, he was a Risk Manager and Research Analyst at Voltaire Asset Management. Prior to joining Voltaire, he was an analyst with Morgan Stanley in London, managing risk on a Convertible Bonds proprietary trading desk. He graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris in 2002.

Research and Strategies

Louis Larere joined Zadig in 2019. He is co-responsible for the Memnon SRI strategy and research analyst with a focus on Automotive, Materials (chemicals, paper), Telecom, Infrastructure. He joined Zadig after spending 4 years covering industrial and telecom companies at BDL Capital Management in Paris. He graduated from Bocconi University in Milan in 2011 and ESCP business school in Paris in 2014.

Luc Pez joined Zadig in 2021. Luc has 20-years of expertise in equity research in the Basic Resources space (Metals & Mining, Oil, Chemicals). Prior to joining Zadig he was at Exane BNP Paribas until 2019 when he founded Rare Earth Advisory (REA) to offer consulting and advisory services on sustainability issues, critical material sourcing, recycling and technological arbitrations linked to the mass adoption of renewable energies and electric vehicles. Luc holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate and Trading Finance from Dauphine and is a Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA®)

Vincent Steenman joined Zadig in 2020 and is responsible for the Memnon Opportunities strategy. Prior to joining Zadig, he worked as a Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at Sata Capital and Carmignac Gestion. Previously he was a Research Analyst and Partner at Zadig between 2007 and 2012. He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and HEC in Paris in 2004.

Francesco Rustici joined Zadig in 2020. He is is co responsible for the Memnon Opportunities and Memnon Market Neutral strategies. Prior to joining Zadig European equity’s Team, he was a Managing Director and Deputy Portfolio Manager at Chilton Investment Co, which he joined in 2011. Previously he worked in equity research roles at Theorema, since 2004, and in the asset management businesses of Citigroup and the Zurich Group, starting in 1996. He graduated from the Università Cattolica in Milan in 1996.

Sébastien Maillard, CFA joined Zadig in 2012. He is Portfolio Advisor for the ARP Strategy. Before joining Zadig, he was Fund Manager at Lyxor (Société Générale) in charge of the conception and principal fund management of Absolute Return Multi-Assets (Lyxor Arma), Hedge Fund Replication (Lyxor T-Rex and Reverse T-Rex) and Commodity (Lyxor Active Commodity Fund). Before Lyxor, he was Quantitative analyst and Fund Manager at SGAM AI and Quantitative analyst at Sinopia AM. He graduated from El Karoui, Paris VI.

Mathieu Mounier is a research analyst at Zadig. He joined 2018. Prior to that he was an intern as a buy-side analyst at Lazard AM. He graduated from ESSEC business school in Paris in 2018.

Investment and Operations

David Pawelkowski joined Zadig in 2010 and is in charge of operations and compliance. He was previously a Fund Coordinator at CapitalatWork Foyer Group S.A., and Director for CapitalatWork Umbrella Fund from 2007 to 2010. Prior to joining CapitalatWork, he was Client Relationship Manager at Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild Europe for institutional clients from 2005 to 2007, and before that he was the auditor and compliance consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Luxembourg from 2001 to 2005. He graduated in Applied Finance from Ecole d’Administration des Affaires, Université de Liège.

Guillaume Krier joined Zadig in 2011. He is in charge of the daily monitoring of the risks and exposures as well as reporting. Prior to joining Zadig, he was a Collateral Monitoring Officer at RBC Investor Services Bank. He graduated from ESLSCA (Paris) and ISEN (Lille).

Anup Dodia joined Zadig as a trader in 2011. Prior to Zadig he worked at Equinet Bank AG in Germany as a trader on the sell side for 3 years. He graduated from the University of London in Accounting and Management in 2007.

Benoît Grouvel joined Zadig in 2009. He started his career in Operations and moved to Front Office in 2011. He graduated in Accounting and Finance from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.

Aurélie Coos is working as Head of Operations at Zadig since 2010. Prior to joining Zadig, she worked at Ing Luxembourg for 10 years.

Finance and Research Coordination

Mahboob Ali joined Zadig in 2009 and is in charge of Finance, HR and Compliance. Prior to joining Zadig he worked with Ernst & Young Ford Rhodes in audit and tax. He graduated in Applied Accounting from Anglia Ruskin University, England.

Amy Powell has been Office Manager and Research Coordinator at Zadig since 2011 and had over 25 years’ experience. Prior to joining Zadig, Amy started out at GAM UK, and began her career as a PA in 1996 to two fund managers before moving over to the client side, where she remained for 14 years.
